Ask Kyle: Submit your questions for this week's Michigan football mailbag
ANN ARBOR -- Michigan coach Brady Hoke is optimistic he'll have quarterback Denard Robinson this week. But he also was optimistic last week.
Robinson's elbow has bothered him three of the past four weeks, and visibly struggled to make throws before Saturday's game against Minnesota. He didn't end up playing.
It very well could be Devin Gardner again when Michigan faces Northwestern this weekend (noon, ESPN).
Gardner was terrific against the Gophers, completing 12-of-18 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. And that was on one week of prep.
But an intriguing question is: Michigan looked great with Gardner at the helm, but was his performance padded by a lackluster Minnesota defense? Was it a fluke?
Should Robinson's injury span several weeks, can Michigan win a Big Ten title without him?
