Report: If Nebraska loses in B1G title game, Michigan cannot be selected for the Capital One Bowl
The Michigan football team has been projected as a possible participant in the Capital One Bowl for weeks now.
But, according to a report from ESPN.com, the Wolverines won't be bowling in Orlando if Nebraska loses to Wisconsin the Big Ten Championship game.
ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg reported Monday that if the Cornhuskers (10-2) lose to the Badgers (7-5) in Saturday's league title game, then the Capital One Bowl would have to select Nebraska.
"Both the Capital One and Outback bowls cannot select a Big Ten with two fewer wins or two more losses than another eligible Big Ten team," Rittenberg wrote.
Nebraska currently has two more wins than Michigan (8-4), so if the Cornhuskers aren't going to the Rose Bowl, it appears the Capital One Bowl would almost have to take them.
