Live blog: No. 2 Michigan looking for historic win as Nebraska visits Crisler Center
ANN ARBOR --
Michigan 62, Nebraska 47
Michigan finishes with a season-low 62 points, and shoots a season-worst 38.7 percent from the floor. But makes program history by moving to 16-0.
Michigan 55, Nebraska 44
-- 3:00, second half
Michigan has finally stretched this thing to double-digits, Glenn Robinson III has been the team's best player tonight. Also, Taylor Lewan is leading the pep band in a rendition of "The Victors."
Michigan 43, Nebraska 34
-- 10:33, second half
Nik Stauskas now has two triples and Michigan has matched its largest lead of the game. The Wolverines will shoot free throws out of the break. Burke now with 14 points and 3 assists, Stauskas with 11 points and 4 rebounds, Robinson with 10 points and 5 rebounds for Michigan.
Michigan 36, Nebraska 30
-- 15:45, second half
Michigan pushed its lead as high as eight, and looked like it might finally take control of this thing -- but Nebraska keeps scoring. Burke leads all scorers with 12 points.
Michigan 25, Nebraska 20
Easily Michigan's worst half of the season, easily. Wolverines shoot 10 of 31 from the field, and outside of Mitch McGary, no one had any energy. Very, very poor start -- Wolverines lucky to be in front.
Michigan 23, Nebraska 20
-- 3:05, first half
The crowd gets something to cheer about as Taylor Lewan is shown on the big board, everything else isn't great. Michigan really struggling to score here, now 9 of 26.
Michigan 18, Nebraska 15
-- 6:06, first half
A clunker here early. Michigan shooting 7 of 20 from the floor, getting decent looks, just not making anything. Nebraska, meanwhile, is 6 of 15.
Michigan 13, Nebraska 12
-- 10:59, first half
Wolverines still can't shake the Huskers early here. Nebraska getting easy looks inside now, as both teams are just trading baskets now. A couple of nice hustle plays by Mitch McGary could provide a spark, though.
Michigan 5, Nebraska 2
-- 15:39, first half
Ugly start for both sides, just the way Nebraska likes it. The Huskers are 1 of 5, Michigan 2 of 6. Ugly, ugly start to this one -- Taylor Lewan, the man of the hour, is watching from the front row next to Jake Ryan, by the way.
• Just like Sunday, Michigan sophomore forward Jon Horford is dressed for warmups and is taking part in layup drills with the team. Wearing a bulky knee brace on his left leg.
History's on the line tonight for the Michigan basketball team.
With a win over Nebraska (7 p.m., Big Ten Network), the Wolverines will improve to 16-0 on the season, 3-0 in Big Ten play -- matching the best start to a year in program history.
The 1985-86 Wolverines also started the season 16-0, and eventually went on to win the Big Ten championship. But, that team also lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Michigan is 24-point against the Cornhuskers (9-4) tonight.
