Controlled burns planned today at Bird Hills, Ann Arbor's largest park
The Natural Area Preservation Unit of the City of Ann Arbor will conduct controlled burns today in Bird Hills and Ruthven nature areas. At nearly 162 acres, Bird Hills is the largest park in the city of Ann Arbor.
Controlled burns are used to enhance the ecology of a site by controlling invasive plants.
The fire is conducted by trained personnel and will be under control at all times. The burns will take place between approximately noon and 5:00 p.m.
