Maple trees are being tapped for syrup on Ann Arbor's North Side

By Stefanie Murray

The maple sap started running on Sunday in Ken Clark's backyard on Ann Arbor's North Side. He'd put a test tap in back in late January and installed the rest of the taps on Sunday, Clark wrote in an e-mail.

Last year, the Clarks got about a gallon of finished maple syrup from their tree on Larkspur Street. The year before, they harvested even more.
