During the summer, the city of Ann Arbor offers month-long preschool camps called River Kids at Gallup Park.

The preschoolers are taught to paddle a kayak, canoe and paddleboat on Gallup Pond and they learn about the river by discussing river animals, fishing, telling stories and making river-related art.
