The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor North hosts induction ceremony for new president and board members
The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor North held an induction ceremony for its new president and board members on the campus of Eastern Michigan University Thursday night.
Char Luttrell was elected as president, along with nine other members that make up the board for the 2010-2011 year.
Luttrell, a member of the club since 2000, said the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor North is small—around 30 members—but does a tremendous amount of work for the community.
She said the club is involved with many local and international service projects including the Huron Valley Girl Scouts, Perry Nursery School, Meals on Wheels and the international effort to eradicate polio.
Luttrell said working with the Rotary Club has meant a lot to her over the years.
“Rotary is one of the ways that I give back to the community,” Luttrell said. “And Ann Arbor North is a warm, friendly club. The people I work with have become some of my closest friends.”

A correction was made to this story based on the following information from Char Luttrell: The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor North is involved with the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan. The Huron Valley Girl Scouts merged into the larger organization about 18 months ago.
