The annual back to school picnic for Bryant and Pattengill elementary schools on Ann Arbor's south side was held Wednesday night. The event drew at least 600 people and went smoothly; about 800 hot dogs were served. A brief rainshower shortly after 7 p.m. sent everyone scrambling back to their cars, ending the event.

The picnic is put on by the Bryant-Pattengill Parent Teacher Organization.
