Rose and Golden stop sign repaired

By Edward Vielmetti

The stop sign at the corner of Rose and Golden was pulled down and the sign removed Wednesday night, according to a message posted by a neighborhood watch coordinator on the Lower Burns Park mailing list. A screwdriver was found at the scene.

The sign has been repaired by the city as of Thursday morning.

A Rose Avenue street sign and a street sign on Olivia were also removed, according to the neighborhood watch account.

Golden Avenue is likely to be an unofficial detour route for traffic rerouted by planned construction on the East Stadium bridge over State Street scheduled for Nov. 15-17. The official signed detour will take traffic all the way down Stadium to Packard, and locals who can figure out the one way streets in that neighborhood can and do regularly drive through rather than take the long way around.

The City of Ann Arbor's Field Operations division's Signs, Signals & Street Lighting department is responsible for sign maintenance; if you see damage to a sign or a missing sign, contact them at 734-794-6361.
