'A World in Motion' program teaches kids about technology; Toyota helps out at Burns Park Elementary

By Stefanie Murray

Starting in April, 10 Ann Arbor elementary schools began a weekly hands-on program called "A World in Motion" that's designed to engage and educate kids who are interested in technology, according to an article from AAPSNews Service.

Among the participating schools is Burns Park Elementary in Central Ann Arbor, where groups of fifth-graders were recently testing balloon-powered cars for velocity and how far the vehicles could travel. Measurements were taken and logged with the help of staff members from the Toyota Technical Center, according to the article.

The program is funded through the Society of Automotive Engineers Foundation for Science and Technology.
