Summer's beauty gone too soon in the Old West Side
Some of the Old West Side's beauty is not evident from its sidewalks or streets, such as these flowers found in a picnic nook behind Mathematical Reviews, first observed from Bach's playground. Although this photo is just two weeks old, I see various reminders in mid-August that summer's vivid colors will soon be replaced by their fall counterparts.

Gone, have you lost your mind. This has been a tremendous growing season, and I hope we get pounded with rain tomorrow. There's plenty of life and vegetation on the West Side. And, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to insult you. I just think this has been an excellent summer.

I don't live in that area of town, but my flowers are starting to fade as well. The sad thing is I haven't had a red tomato yet!
