15-year-old hospitalized with burns to his back after fire in street
A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized Thursday evening after he was injured in a fire in the Arbor Pointe neighborhood, according to officials.
Scio Township Fire Chief Carl Ferch said the boy suffered burns to his back from an apparent fire set in the street.
Ferch said he did not know what was burned or how the boy was injured immediately Thursday evening. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, fire crews and Huron Valley Ambulance all responded to the area about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Sgt. Geoffrey Fox, of the sheriff’s office, said the injuries appeared to be accidental. However, the investigation still was in the early stages at 7 p.m. Thursday and he could not track down more information about the circumstances of the fire.
Fox said more information on the incident may be available Friday.
Ferch told AnnArbor.com the boy was up and walking around when he was at the scene of the incident. Ferch said the boy's injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

It's just north of that "French" subdivision, where more crime was committed recently. Did this teenager call in tips to the police in order to help them catch the criminals? I usually don't think of teenagers getting hurt because someone wants to retaliate.

I know this guy. Hes 16 and it wasnt an accident. It was attempted suicide. He set himself on fire. I was at his house when it happened. What type of crimes have been happening in that neighborhood? Just wondering because Im always in Arbor Pointe since my gf lives there. i could possibly find out information about those crimes maybe.

What lesson? "FIRE BAD"? Bit premature to be making any judgements considering the lack of information presented.
