2 people transported to hospital from U-M dorms due to 'apparent alcohol incapacitation'

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Two people were transported to the University of Michigan Hospital from campus dorms early today because of the their intoxication level, campus police said.

Huron Valley Ambulance paramedics were called to Bursley Hall just after 1 a.m. and Mary Markley Residence Hall just after 2 a.m., police incident logs show.

In each case, someone suffering from "apparent alcohol incapacitation" was taken to the emergency room, the logs said. No further information was available on the people transported.

In a separate incident in another dorm, campus police found suspected marijuana on a resident of West Quad at 12:49 a.m., the log said. The resident was questioned and released pending further investigation.

On Friday night and Saturday morning, University of Michigan police ticketed multiple students in the dorms for being minors in possession of alcohol

Hey Fish, FYI they do NOT pump your stomach nor instill activated charcoal for alcohol ingestion/intoxication and/or overdose. The aforementioned protocol would be only used for ingestion of a solid but dissolvable substance (mainly prescription/non-prescription drugs). In regard to the article, a total waste of police, emergency medical service and valuable ER space to treat a preventable and irresponsible occurance. Suspend them and evit them from their dorms (FIRST OFFENSE!!!) Send'em packin back home to mommy and daddy and let them figure it out..

They probably had their stomachs pumped and are vomiting charcoal right now. They may drink less next time...
