3-car accident ties up westbound M-14

By John Counts

A three-car accident was slowing traffic on the westbound lanes of M-14 around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, a Washtenaw County dispatcher confirmed.

The accident was reported west of Joy Road, dispatch said.

There was report of an injury, though it wasn't immediately known how serious. There was no other information available.

This crash followed reports of at least three additional crashes Wednesday morning on Ann Arbor area freeways.

Update at 10:33 a.m.:

The scene has since been cleared and there were no serious injuries, said Huron Valley Ambulance spokesperson Joyce Williams.

HVA was already near the scene of the three-car accident when it was called in to 911 at 9:58 a.m., Williams said.

The accident involved a pick-up truck, a mini-van and a car. People were evaluated by HVA at the scene, but no one had injuries serious enough warranting a transport to the hospital, Williams said.

Any stats on how many accidents on the stretch of M-14 under construction? Seems like a lot. We've seen 2 on the eastbound side at the end of construction in the few instances we've been on that stretch of road.
