3-year-old found walking alone Monday night in Ypsilanti
A 3-year-old girl was found walking alone Monday night on East Michigan Avenue, prompting an investigation by Children’s Protective Services, Ypsilanti police Det. Jill Kulhanek said.
The girl, who was not injured, was found about 10:38 p.m. near the intersection of East Michigan Avenue and North Park Street in Ypsilanti, a police incident log said.
It’s not far from her South Grove Street apartment, where her 17-year-old aunt put her to bed and went to sleep herself, police said. It's unclear how the child got out.
The 17-year-old's boyfriend first noticed the child was missing. The child's mother, who was out doing an errand, reported the incident at 11:21 p.m., more than 40 minutes after the child was found.
When the child was found, she was unable to provide a home address to police, records show. The child was turned over to her mother shortly after her mother reported her missing.

Truth be told Ypsilanti is west of Ann Arbor, it is just a really long ways west. When there was talk, albeit brief about renaming Ypsilanti Township, I suggested that we should rename the City of Ypsilanti and call it "West Ann Arbor". Here is a fun thing to do. Nice editing Ann Arbor.com- You should get your facts straight. North Park is at EAST Michigan ave NOT West.
