By Cindy Heflin
The American Civil Liberties Union is expected to argue in Ann Arbor today against a law bars parole for juveniles convicted of certain crimes, The Associated Press reported.
The civil rights organization is arguing its case today in federal court on behalf of nine inmates sentenced to life in prison for crimes committed when they were minors.

And there for the world to see is the proof of our uncivilized culture. This has nothing to do with murder. It has to do with the punishment of a juvenile. It is about judgement and punishment and how much is enough. The exercise of good Judgement. Potential for Redemption. An eye for an eye results in a lot of blind people!

I believe the rights of those who have not murdered anyone trump the rights of those who have. I'm not particularly interested in redemption. Not with a astronomical recidivism rate.

That means you don't believe in redemption. A lot of blind people.

If it were a murder for a murder, there would be no murderer for the ACLU to waste its time defending. I see no point in the state ever releasing someone who committed murder, regardless of age.

This is a good example of why the ACLU is largely irrelevant today. This law has nothing to do with freedom, unless you count the right to commit murder just because you're below a certain age to be a fundamental right.

"No civilized culture would ever even contemplate such a draconian law!" Which explains why we have one. Good Night and Good Luck
