Adrian man sentenced to boot camp for Ann Arbor crimes

By Art Aisner

A Lenawee County man was sentenced to mandatory boot camp and two years of probation for his role in a mini-crime spree in Ann Arbor last fall.

Eric Levi Wuest, 20, will serve the three-month boot camp following a psychiatric evaluation as part of a sentencing agreement with Circuit Judge David Swartz, court records show.

The Adrian man pleaded guilty to larceny from a person and conspiracy charges last month for a series of crimes that included trying to steal a donation jar from a fast-food restaurant. He also tried to steal money from a grocery store clerk on the city’s west side with a note.

Counts of attempted unarmed robbery and attempted larceny in a building were dismissed, court records show.

Accomplice Martin Taylor recently pleaded to similar charges. Kelly Householder, 40, the alleged driver from Albion, faces another pre-trial hearing on Feb. 25.
