Ann Arbor announces Christmas tree pick-up schedule
The City of Ann Arbor will pick up curbside Christmas trees the week of Jan. 18-22.
City residents must first remove all ornaments, nails, tinsel, plastic bags and tree stands to protect processing equipment during composting. Trees should be left on the curb before 7 a.m. on trash collection days. Wreathes and evergreens that contain wire or plastic roping should be placed in trash bins.
In the event of significant snow or ice, tree collection will resume after a thaw.
The Recycle Ann Arbor Drop-Off Station, at 2950 E. Ellsworth Road, will also be collecting Christmas trees from Dec. 15 to Jan. 30.
Undecorated trees can be dropped off in the parking lot adjacent to the Drop-Off Station for a small fee during normal operating hours. The Drop-Off Station is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
Curbside compost collection won't resume again until April.
