Ann Arbor Community Center seeks votes for Pepsi Refresh grant to help domestic violence survivors

By Heather Lockwood

The Ann Arbor Community Center is seeking a $250,000 grant through the Pepsi Refresh Project to help domestic violence survivors, and the non-profit needs residents' vote to win.

According to an AACC news release, the grant would help fund the construction of a lodge in Waterloo Township to be used as a retreat for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Those interested can cast their votes for the project beginning Wednesday, and can do so every day through the month of September, according to the release.

The Pepsi Refresh Project will award $1.3 million a month, funding as many as 32 grants a month, for ideas to help improve communities across the country. Grants range from $5,000 to $250,000. The top two ideas at the $250,000 level will be funded.

People can vote once a day per idea, for as many as 10 ideas.
