Ann Arbor gas prices down 6 cents this week to $2.63 per gallon

Ann Arbor gas prices are down 6 cents per gallon over last week, according to AAA Michigan.

The average price for gas in Ann Arbor is $2.63 today, compared to an average of $2.69 last week.

The statewide average is $2.60 per gallon, 70 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time. Ann Arbor gas prices are 70 cents higher than last year at this time, when a gallon of unleaded fuel was $1.93.

Ann Arbor has the second highest average of the eight metropolitan areas surveyed, which include Detroit, Flint, Lansing/East Lansing and Grand Rapids. The highest is Marquette at $2.71.

AAA surveys 2,800 gas stations daily. The cheapest gas prices can be found in the Flint area at $2.53 a gallon.

Go outside of the AA city limit and the price for gas is 5 cents cheaper. Why is gas more per gallon in AA because it's AA where just about everything is more expensive.
