We agree about the Plymouth Road stations. Station owners: Local consumers do pay attention to the price differences in different parts of town. Unless you are giving away green stamps and sets of drinking glasses in addition to checking the oil and wiping the windshields, why so much more per gallon?

Gas is always about 10 cents per gallon cheaper in Ypsilanti than it is in Ann Arbor. Why is that? Also, because I don't want to encourage the practice, I only use gas stations that don't charge for using my credit card, even when I'm using cash.

As someone who lives on the north side of Ann Arbor, I am very curious to know why gas along Plymouth Road is at least $.10/gallon more expensive than just about anywhere else. I work in Plymouth, where today regular unleaded gas was $2.59/gallon, and on Plymouth Road it is $2.79/gallon. I, too, urge a boycott of the stations along this corridor.

Autos ues more gas during the winter months due to prolonged warm up times. Letting the car/truck/van/whatever warm up a bit before taking off can help get the engine to operating temp before a drving load is placed on it. This can help with your gas mileage. Making sure your auto is serviced before winter will also help, give it a tune up and the money spent will pay for its self on fuel savings.

Put nitrogen in your tires and you won't have the fluctuations. Uncle Ed's on Stadium will do it in and if you ever need more, which is unlikely, they will do it free.

www.gasbuddy.com is a great resource for finding low prices on gas. I usually head to the station at Ellsworth and Platt because the one at State and Ellsworth is so tiny... By the way, I think that one by Arborland closed. The Marathon.... it looks like most, if not all, of the Marathons around my part of the city closed (Arborland, Carpenter & Washtenaw and Packerd & Huron Parkway).

To save a few sheckels on gas, this is a time of year when a lot of people are not paying enough attention to keeping their tires properly inflated.

How about a story on WHY gas is more expensive in each area? This constant reporting of what the prices are is a waste of time.
