Ann Arbor gas prices highest in the state, AAA Michigan says

Although gasoline prices have remained steady in the Ann Arbor area over the past week, this area has the highest average price in the state among cities surveyed by AAA Michigan.

The average price for regular gas in Ann Arbor is $2.63, AAA Michigan said today. That's 10 cents lower than the price a month ago and 98 cents higher than last year at this time.

Statewide, the average is $2.59, about 1 cent higher than last week. The auto club said today the statewide average is 94.1 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel is in the Grand Rapids and Saginaw/Bay City areas, where it's $2.57 a gallon.

AAA surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations on a daily basis , including Detroit, Flint, Lansing/East Lansing and Grand Rapids.

not trying to turn this into a tax issue,but higher property values = higher taxes higher costs to do bussiness.Many gas stations in A2 don't have the room for large mini-marts that offset their gas costs

Maybe AAA should look in Livington County. I routinely by my Gas in Ann Arboe becuase is is 10 to 15 cents cheaper per gallon then in Livingston County.
