Ann Arbor hacky sack champion headed to trial for sexual assault

By Art Aisner

A champion hacky sack player from Ann Arbor was ordered to stand trial on sexual assault charges stemming from an incident in 2003.

Greg Nelson, 42, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in district court last week and stood mute to four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Police said he sexually assaulted a girl he knows roughly seven years ago. Ann Arbor Police Detective Bill Stanford said the victim recently told a friend, who told other officials, and police were contacted.

Nelson is a 12-time World Doubles Champion in hacky sack and is a professional Frisbee player who worked as an independent contractor for Flying Aces in Sharon Township.

He remains free on a personal bond and has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for June 17.

Didn't think hacky sack players were interested in that sort of thing.

why is Dorothy Hernandez grinning so hard about removing off topic comments? Were they really funny? You annarbor.com staff members really need to get the smiling mug shots off. It's very unprofessional to be grinning next to these stories, such as Art Aisner grinning next to the report of someone going to trial for sexual assault. That's just not very funny, Art!
