A man who University of Michigan police say grabbed a female student's buttocks at the Michigan Union Tuesday was arrested today, police spokeswoman Diane Brown said.

The 47-year-old Ann Arbor man is accused of fondling the student at about 12:30 a.m. in a first-floor study area while sitting next to her.

He's not affiliated with the university. He was arrested at his workplace in suburban Detroit late this morning, Brown said.

Officers made the arrest after receiving information from the victim and people who read a crime alert about the incident, Brown said.

The man is at the Washtenaw County Jail and has not yet been arraigned on charges.
