Ann Arbor man victimized by hacker
Someone hacked into a man's Netflix.com account this month and charged items, then sent the man an instant message bragging about it, an Ann Arbor police report said.
The hacker also changed the password to the 19-year-old victim's e-mail, deleted his MySpace.com page and deactivated his Facebook.com page, the report said.
The victim, who is from Ann Arbor, chatted online with the hacker. The hacker claimed to be a professional video game player from California, working with someone in New York, the report said.
The victim noticed Dec. 14 that money was missing from his bank account, and charges were made to Netflix.com for items, including gift certificates, the report said.
Netflix.com investigators requested the victim file a police report before proceeding with the case. The initial report was completed Tuesday.

Until recently a "hacker" was someone who was an expert at "hacking code" (ie. programming). Somewhere along the line it became popularly known as a "bad" thing to be a hacker. True "white hat" hackers have tried to get the black hats to be called "crackers" but have failed to sway the mass media. Nonetheless, someone stupid enough to not only be a thief but then brag about it is going to get caught. The smart ones steal and shut up.

Remeber Parents....Raise your children with ethics and integrity so they won't even think about being criminals! I love the term "hacker"...seems so civilized; rather than calling one a thief.
