Ann Arbor officials want input Wednesday on future of 721 N. Main property

The property at 721 N. Main, an old city maintenance yard, is one of three properties the city hopes to transform into a greenway anchor park as part of the vision for an Allen Creek Greenway.

The city has a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to pay for demolition of buildings on the site, but it's also hoping for state grant funding for other work.

"We're moving forward with the preliminary work to put in a request for a Natural Resources Trust Fund grant for the 721 N. Main property," Mayor John Hieftje said in a recent interview with AnnArbor.com.

"Now county parks has expressed a desire to participate in the matching money there because it's right across the street from making a connection to the Border-to-Border Trail."
