The Ann Arbor Police Department is searching for a 53-year-old woman they say has been missing since Dec. 20.

Yvonne Johanna Nelson is about 5'3" and 120 pounds, according to a missing person poster released by police.

She was last seen at her apartment complex on Miller Road in Ann Arbor on Dec. 20 and has no vehicle, police said. Her family has grown increasingly concerned over the past week, since she has not answered her phone and they typically talk to her every few weeks, Det. Bill Stanford said. The family has no idea where she may have gone.

Nothing appeared out of place at her residence when police visited. The disappearance is out of character, Stanford said.

If you have any information, call Stanford at 734-323-2628, the tip line at 734-794-6939, or 911.

The following three missing person/death incidents involve people in similar age ranges and appear to have unsolved elements. They may or may not have a connection to Ms. Nelson's current absence. David Widlack of Grosse Pointe Farms, 62, was found with a gunshot wound from his own gun in a marshy area on Lake St. Clair. He was last seen September 19, 2010. Dr. L.J. Dragovic was quoted as saying that it was an execution style homicide with a gun shot to the mid back of the neck. The gun was apparently found in water--throwing distance? Kathryne Lindberg of Detroit, 59, disappeared December 13, 2010. Her body was never found but her car was by the MacArthur bridge to Belle Isle. Linda Ireland of Windsor, Ontario, 57 went missing on March 18, 2011. Her body was found in the Detroit River on the Canadian side on March 27. When Ireland went missing, Police described her as having "failing eyesight and symptoms of early onset dementia." The news reports do not say whether or not foul play was suspected. These incidents seem to have unexplained features and a number of commonalities. I have no personal knowledge concerning these events, only what I've read in newspapers online.

Makes you wonder if someone ought to be looking at this from another angle.

Is Ms. Nelson employed? Has there been activity in her bank account? Just wondering.
