Ann Arbor's Rick Snyder raises $3.2M in campaign for governor's seat
Republican Rick Snyder says he has raised $3.2 million in his bid to win the GOP primary for governor.
Snyder campaign spokesman Jake Suski said Thursday the Ann Arbor businessman plans to begin running campaign ads in early February.
Suski confirmed Snyder has put his own money into the campaign, but the specific amount won't be released until the Feb. 1 campaign report filing deadline.
Snyder said last fall that he had given his campaign at least $340,000.
Attorney General Mike Cox's campaign announced two weeks ago that the Republican had raised $1.8 million for the race.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra and state Sen. Tom George also are running for the GOP nomination, but they have not released campaign figures.
