AnnArbor.com to host debate for Ann Arbor City Council candidates in the 5th Ward on Wednesday

AnnArbor.com will host and webcast a debate between Ann Arbor City Council candidates for the 5th Ward Newcombe Clark and John Floyd on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

The 5:30 p.m. debate will be held in AnnArbor.com's first floor Community Space at 301 E. Liberty St. in downtown Ann Arbor. The event is scheduled to last one hour. Questions may be submitted from the audience in attendance at the event or by participating in a live chat during the debate online at AnnArbor.com.

AnnArbor.com's chief content officer, Tony Dearing, will moderate the debate. Carsten Hohnke, the 5th ward seat incumbent, declined to participate.

Stefanie, Thanks for the URL. It's good to see Carsten is putting himself out there. He'll end up participating in four candidate forums. When he says, "At some point, you have to say, 'I think that's a good set of candidate forums,'" Hohnke said. "Four seems like plenty, don't you think?" I do see his side of it.

I hear he is not comfortable thinking on his feet in response to unscripted questions. Rather he prefers preplanned statements drafted by his behind the scenes campaign advisor.
