At news of Osama bin Laden's death, University of Michigan students joined throng outside White House
Several University of Michigan students told The Michigan Daily they were among the first to arrive outside the White House as the news of Osama bin Laden's death broke Sunday night.
Students from the Ross School of Business who are in Washington, D.C., this week said they "went sprinting down toward the White House" from their hotel room as soon as they heard news reports that the United States had killed bin Laden, the Daily reported.
The students, among 60 from the Ross School in Washington as part of U-M's Carson Scholars program, described the scene outside the White House as a sea of Red, White and Blue.
U-M students also celebrated on South University Avenue in Ann Arbor after President Obama told the nation about bin Laden's death Sunday night.
