Police are still searching for an autistic teenager reported missing from Washtenaw County’s Bridgewater Township Thursday.

The girl, Sabrina Marguerite Rattray, 17, was last seen at her home on Braun Road at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, when she left of her own accord and was trying to flag down cars for a ride, Washtenaw County sheriff's department spokesman Derrick Jackson said. He said it's not clear whether she got into a stranger's car.

She is a high-functioning autistic teen with a speech impairment, an alert from the sheriff's department said. There was no indication of foul play, the alert said.

She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds. She has black hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a light blue puffy jacket, blue jeans, gray and orange shoes and was carrying a black and red backpack.

Jackson said there may be an update on the case later today after the sheriff's department has finished contacting friends and relatives to see if anyone may know where she is.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Washtenaw County sheriff’s department at 911 or the confidential tip line, 734-973-7711, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.

This article needs to be updated or removed. It was reported yesterday that she had been found, safe and sound, at a friend's house.

I just heard on the scanner that she has been found. Thank God.

I wonder if this is more of a runnaway case than a missing person one.

This is really a distressing story. I'm sure everyone is anxious to see this young woman found and safely returned to her family.

I hope that she is ok. Perhaps she has a cellphone that could be tracked by GPS.
