Barker Road in Northfield Township closed at railroad crossing

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Drivers are being urged to avoid Barker Road in Northfield Township for the rest of the week due to temporary railroad crossing closures.

The road is expected to be closed until sometime Friday. Northfield Township police say no traffic will be allowed through the railroad crossing, and detour signs have been posted.

Police also said drivers should avoid using the Northfield Estates neighborhood as a way to get around the closure because it is private property. Extra police officers will patrol the neighborhood this week, a release said.

Not just Barker--all the grade crossings up to Hamburg at least are closed.
