Bleeding pedestrian hails police officer after attack in Ypsilanti

By Ronald Ahrens

A man who was bleeding from the head and hands after being assaulted waved down an Ypsilanti police officer Friday morning on West Michigan Avenue.

According to reports, the attack occurred when the 29-year-old victim told four passers-by to mind their own business when one in the group made a comment.

The victim told police that the group suddenly rushed him, threw punches and struck him with a liquor bottle. The victim said he was knocked to the ground and kicked several times in the head before the attackers fled to the south on Hawkins Street.
