Bomb squad investigates grenade at Ann Arbor residence
The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad was called in to investigate reports of a grenade at a residence in the 500 block of East Ann Street Wednesday.
At around 5:30 p.m., a woman police described as college-aged walked into the Ann Arbor Police Department and said she was afraid her roommate, also described as college-aged, had a live grenade in their residence, said Sgt. Craig Flocken.
The bomb squad was called in and determined there was indeed a grenade, but that it wasn't live.
The grenade was properly disposed of by state police, Flocken said.

Speaking as the guy who is now short a grenade, one which his brother in the army gave him, I'm a little pissed.

Passive aggressive crap. What's so hard about TALKING to your roommate and asking if it's live and dangerous. People these days.... too weak.

I'm not sure accosting someone with a grenade of unknown status is the place to start your assertiveness training.

What they couldn't order a real one from the Internet or get one from a gun show? Poser!

Question. Since the grenade was not live and dangerous. Why did the bomb squad dispose of it? It is not illegal to own a grenade shell.

To justify having the state police show up and to validate the roommate's hysteria and make her feel "safe".

To avoid having to come out to the apartment again when the next roommate discovers the grenade shell.
