Burglars kick in door to Ypsilanti Township home and steal items

By Ann Dwyer

Two men kicked in the front door of an Ypsilanti Township residence and stole items while the homeowner was inside Tuesday, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

A deputy responded to the 1900 block of Mary Catherine Street at about 7 p.m. The resident told police two men kicked down the door and fled with an Xbox gaming system and three games.

The homeowner was not injured.

The intruders were described black, between the ages of 14 and 17 and were wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the sheriff's tip line at 734-973-7711.

Why no comments on this story? I'm curious how people would respond to having their doors kicked in while at home. Lucky for this homeowner the criminals "only" smashed and grabbed.
