Canton boy recovering from shattered pelvis at University of Michigan Hospital after fight at school
A Canton high school freshman is recovering from a shattered pelvis at the University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor after a fight at his school today, WDIV is reporting.
Police have not yet released the names of those involved in the fight, but a man named Kevin Fuller said his 14-year-old son was the boy injured. Fuller said another 14-year-old boy "sucker punched his son from behind, then beat him while he was on the ground," according to WDIV.
He said the fight happened during a break between classes behind the cafeteria of the school.
The boy has undergone surgery and is scheduled for additional surgery. He is expected to need a lot of rehabilitation, the man told the TV station. Police are still investigating.
No charges have yet been filed, but the accused 14-year-old aggressor has been cited for assault, according to the report.

Hmm..behind the cafeteria inbetween classes. I am quite sure that neither student was where he was supposed to be. Clearly, like many other posted stories lately, there is a great deal more to the story than we are reading!

Does not appear to be a fight, but 3rd degree criminal assault with the intent to do grave bodily harm.

A shattered pelvis isn't just a kick or two...it takes a lot of power, or anger in this case, to injure someone this severely. Can you say psych consultation?

Let's not forget, we have all seen fights at school. Just another case of punish the injury not the offense.

That's pretty violent behavior for 14 year olds.
