Cash stolen during break-in at Biggby Coffee in Chelsea

By Lisa Allmendinger

Chelsea police are investigating a break-in at Biggby Coffee in the city and police are asking for help finding the suspect.

The break-in happened about midnight Sunday when a window was busted out on the west side of the business, said Chelsea Police Chief Ed Toth. Less than $500 was taken from a cash drawer, he said.

Cameras in the store at 1171 S. Main St. got a photo of the suspect, who is described as a white male, 30-40 years old, with a heavy muscular build and curly reddish brown hair.

He was wearing a medium green polo shirt, tan khaki cargo shorts and white tennis shoes.

Police were alerted to the break-in by a store alarm, Toth said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chelsea Police at 734-475-9122 or Crime Stoppers at 800-773-2587. Calls will remain anonymous.

"... window was busted out..." Now I'm definitely not an english teacher, but I remember that "busted" was almost a dirty word in elementary school.

Hopefully the camera got good pictures, and this suspect is caught soon. Now days, don't leave over $10.00 in the register overnight, or when store is closed.
