Chelsea police warn of auto break-ins that occurred overnight
Chelsea police say at least three cars were broken into overnight around the city.
In each case, the cars were left unlocked parked on the street, and an iPod, GPS unit, and handheld gaming device were taken, Police Chief Ed Toth said.
The incidents occurred between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. today in the 400 block Wilkinson Street, 500 block of Arthur and 500 block of Grant Street, which are in the same general area, police said.
Officers reminded residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables and report any suspicious activity to police.
Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call Chelsea police at 734-475-9122.

@Jon Saalberg...don't you be gettin all uppity and in the reporters faces here...they don't have any editors to help them...want the job? LOL And furthermore, does anyone have any idea of insurance coverage when items are stolen from an unlocked, unoccupied vehicle?

This headline doesn't make sense - the break-ins already occurred, so the police wouldn't warn people about them - how about "Chelsea Police Issue Warning After Recent Vehicle Break-ins." This also allows for the fact that SUVs, pickups, etc, could be targeted, which aren't cars.

If the cars were left unlocked is it still considered a "break-in"?
