Firefighters rescue fishermen from cracked ice on Four Mile Lake

By Julie Baker

Firefighters from the Chelsea Area Fire Authority rescued two fishermen who were stranded on cracked ice on Four Mile Lake Monday night, Chelsea Update reports.

The two men were about a quarter mile from shore, the report said, when the ice cracked. The men were "soaking wet" when they were rescued and one of them had mild hypothermia, according to the Update.

Four Mile Lake is in Lima Township, northeast of Chelsea.

Once again great work from professionals that have their names dragged through the mud on a regular basis on our airwaves, all societies ills being the fault of civil employees of course.

Doggy...actually it's fun IF you have a shanty and a small propane space heater. It'll get warm enough to fish sans coats. No shanty ? forget it

Unbelievable that whoever is moderating today would delete all of the comments that imply that these men should not be on thin ice and perhaps should be held responsible for having someone "save" them. Delete away!

I've noticed that along with the seemingly random deletions they often happen at " shift change " ( or what ever they call it ) . But I am kinda surprised that the ice started cracking, being as cold as it has been this winter.People also can't seem to wrap their minds around the fact that the Firefighters are either A- being paid regardless of what they are doing or B-they are volunteers.Plus it's like on the job training
