The Chelsea area was hit by heavy rains Monday night, which have caused floods in low laying areas and farm fields.

Water on Dancer Rd. is down to 4 inches today. The mosquitoes out there no longer have to wear waders.

Dancer Rd. is still flooded. County workers are in hip waders using a giant Shop-Vac sucking out water, while attempting to build some sort of drainage thingy. I feel for those guys out in that water...the skeeters have GOT to be eating them alive. I'm thinking about wearing a Haz-Mat suit out to the barn to ride tomorrow.

Yeah. I know. This is not a "low laying" area...AND it was not caused by heavy rains in CHELSEA, as I attempted to remind the poster; It is in Dexter. The problem was 11 inches of total rainfall in two weeks. It was overflow from the pond across the road to Roon Farm. This is definitely not going to help the mosquito situation...at ALL! Despite constant spraying in the barn and on the horses by the wonderful owner of Roon Farm, these horses are getting eaten alive. I sent at least 5 photos to A2.com, and the chose my worst shot, unfortunately. I'm just happy they are finally attempting to fix the problem.

You might want to note that this is DEXTER, not Chelsea.

I sent photos to Jen Eyers. County Road dudes came out the day AFTER the fact looking dazed and confused...did nothing but put up barricades! Meanwhile, Roon Farm (an equine facility) is accessibly only by boat or large trucks. If anything happens to one of these horses we CANNOT trailer them out! I spoke with the County Road dudes by phone, and he said only that "they were aware of the situation" Washtenaw County bureaucrats, once again...hard at work. I sent photos to Jen Eyers. Do you people at A2.com not speak to one another?!

I expect them to FIX it! They are finally doing just that. Starting at 0700 this morning, they began pumping.
