Japanese delegation makes stops in Chelsea, Dexter

Chelsea Mayor Jason Lindauer accepts a gift of pottery from Junichi Ota, mayor of Kikugawa, Japan, and Fujio Muramatsu, mayor of Mori, Japan, inside the McKune Room of the Chelsea District Library Thursday afternoon.

About 15 members of a Japanese medical delegation toured Dexter and Chelsea Thursday. In Chelsea, Mayor Jason Lindauer welcomed the group, which included two mayors. They heard about the benefits of Chelsea Community Hospital and its family medicine practice have had on the city.

Dexter Cider Mill owners Richard Koziski, and his daughter, Nancy Steinhauer opened the mill Thursday to show the visitors how to press cider during their visit to the village.

"We consider ourselves ambassadors," Koziski said.
