MDOT plans meeting about summer M-52 road construction in Chelsea
Michigan Department of Transportation staff will outline summer road construction plans for M-52 in the Chelsea area Wednesday night.
Beginning in July, Chelsea residents and motorists who travel the 1.1 mile stretch of M-52 from I-94 to Old US-12 are expected to see lane closures as the stretch of road gets a much needed facelift. The project will include ramp reconstruction at the I-94 and M-52 interchange.
The meeting will take place at the Chelsea City Council chambers at the Washington Street Educational Center, 500 Washington St., from 7- 8 p.m.
The construction is expected to last through October. It will take place in stagesto reduce the inconvenience to motorists, residents and business owners, according to a release from MDOT.
At least one lane of traffic will be maintained on M-52 during $3.524 million construction project, with short-term detours needed for work on the interchange ramps and at Old US-12 and M-52, the release states.
