Ribbon cut at ceremonial opening of 74th annual Chelsea Community Fair Monday night

The 74th annual Chelsea Community Fair gets underway Tuesday at noon and the rides open at 5 p.m.

On Monday, the ceremonial ribbon-cutting takes place. The steers, feeder calves, horses, rabbits and poultry arrive on the fairgrounds and the agricultural, sewing and arts and crafts are judged.

This year's fair queen competition, which has five candidates, takes place Friday at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose arena.

Tuesday, the rabbits are judged at 9 a.m., poultry is judged at 11 a.m. and a horse show takes place all afternoon.

At 5:30 p.m. is the children's parade, at 7 p.m., sheep judging takes place and at 7:30 p.m. is the demolition derby.
