Comprehensive digital influenza guide includes personal looks at epidemic

The first comprehensive digital resource on the American influenza epidemic has been created through a partnership between the University of Michigan Center for the History of Medicine and the U-M Library's MPublishing.

The website for the American Influenza Epidemic of 1918-1919: A Digital Encyclopedia, can be viewed here.

The collection takes a unique approach to the information to be included, according to a news release, not only including statistics and facts, but also minutes from group meetings, reports from agencies, newspaper articles, military records, diaries, photographs and other outlets.

The center has worked for more than five years collecting the research for the database and aim to include social, cultural, public health, and human dimensions aspects of the epidemic.
