Couple arrested for indecent exposure after hours at the Ypsilanti District Library

By Amalie Nash

Ypsilanti police caught a naked man and partially clothed woman inside the Ypsilanti District Library early Tuesday.

Officers were called to the downtown branch, in the 200 block of West Michigan Avenue, at 2:20 a.m. when a burglary alarm activated, reports said.

Sgt. Kevin Dorsey said police aren't positive how they entered the library, but entry was not forced.

The man was naked, and Dorsey said he believes the woman also was at least partially unclothed. They were taken into custody for indecent exposure and trespassing.

Dorsey said there's no evidence they stole or attempted to steal anything.

The man was jailed on a parole violation, reports said. The case will be forwarded to prosecutors to determine additional criminal charges, police said.

Indecent exposure in a closed building? Trespassing I understand, but by the very nature of where and when, they weren't really exposed, were they? (Oh, maybe to the cops, who can have delicate sensibilities.)

Maybe they were just hiding from the bees.

Pete Bigelow, As one who has had 12 comments removed at various times I too often wonder as djm 12652 put it in this case "what all y'all deem a violation in this particular case." A link to your guidelines doesn't remotely answer the question asked. Indeed your "offensive" and "don't further the conversation" clause's couldn't be more arbitrary. I am fond of the "we deem you a jerk" clause as well. I don't want to speak for djm but I don't think a link to the guidelines was what he was asking for. More along the lines of whether there is any logic or consistency to how you choose to enforce your guidelines.

seriously? you report on a couple nekkid, gettin it on and say someone violated "your" conversation guidelines? How sanctimonious of the annarbor.com moderator. Maybe some of us would like to know what all y'all deem a violation in this particular case.

C'mon now...can't judge a book by its cover...too bad the story has been left dangling without an "ending".

This sounds like the Under grad library at UM on any given night.

Microtini is a scream. That is how a blog should be (entertaining). This couple will have a story to tell in years to come.
