Crash sends vehicle down embankment in Pittsfield Township, but driver suffers only minor injuries

By AnnArbor.com Staff

A vehicle waiting to make a left-hand turn off of Michigan Avenue in Pittsfield Township was rear-ended Tuesday afternoon, sending the car down an embankment and onto its side, township police said.

No one was seriously injured.

The crash occurred as a driver was attempting to turn into the Saline Meadows mobile home community, police Lt. Sean McCormick said.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered the vehicle was on its side down an embankment on the south side of the road, McCormick said. Due to its location, firefighters had to cut the roof off the vehicle to free the driver, who suffered only minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, McCormick said.

The driver in the at-fault vehicle refused medical treatment, McCormick said. Neither vehicle had passengers.

"Due to its location, firefighters had to cut the roof off the vehicle to free the driver" I think those firefighter like to play with their jaws-of-life. They cut the roof off my friend's car when she was in a wreck because they didn't want her to crawl out on her own.
