These roads always seem to be the scene of car crashes. What's going on with that? do the roads need to be widened, more light..?

What do you mean by "these roads" ? I'm sure you've gathered lots of statistics on your phone while driving...

No, people need to slow down and be less distracted...aka NO, the world does NOT revolve around you!! Not saying that's the case here of course.

In driver's ed, we were taught to steer to the right if encountering an oncoming motorist in our lane. But that applies if there's no road crest in front of us, so that we can see a long way ahead of us. I think it was right near Lakeview Drive decades ago, when I attempted to pass another vehicle westbound on Liberty, and a car in the eastbound lane saw me and pulled over to the right; I did not complete the pass, and told my passenger that the eastbound driver did the right thing. I got back into my own lane before passing the eastbound vehicle.

I can only hope that the double yellow line wasn't there decades ago. If it was, you are one of the idiots who causes these kinds of crashes.

I was thinking the same thing, fjord. Some people have a ridiculous answer for everything, and shouldn't be driving AT ALL. Probably should have stopped driving "decades ago." Take a bus or a cab, then you can yammer on and on to the other riders incessantly, without risking other people's lives.

You do know that there isn't a passing lane anywhere near there, right? If you really did attempt a pass on that stretch of road, you were guilty of reckless driving. Did you happen to mention that to your passenger?
