Crash slows traffic on U.S. 23 near Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor

By Cindy Heflin

A crash on northbound U.S. 23 near Washtenaw Avenue was slowing traffic on the freeway on the east side of Ann Arbor Thursday morning.

The crash was not blocking traffic, a dispatcher with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said, but a Google traffic map showed a slowdown on the freeway.

No injuries had been reported, the dispatcher said. Michigan State Police were on the way to the crash at 8:20 a.m.

It seems like everyday there's a crash on 23 near Washtenaw. I would say there's a problem with that interchange.

Crashes on the freeways around Ann Arbor in the morning just aren't news anymore...they are the norm. It would be more interesting if aa.com kept a running count on the front page.
