Crashes slow rush-hour traffic on Ann Arbor freeways
Multiple crashes were creating traffic tie-ups in the Ann Arbor area Friday afternoon.
Police and firefighters were dealing with at least three crashes and one car fire on area freeways just before 5 p.m.
Firefighters were responding to a car fire at eastbound M-14 and Dixboro Road, a dispatcher with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said. A Google traffic map indicated a significant backup on the freeway.
Crashes were reported on eastbound I-94 at Huron Street in Ypsilanti, on the ramp from northbound U.S. 23 to eastbound I-94 and on westbound I-94 West of Parker Road in Scio Township.
The crashes at 94 and Huron Street and 94 and Parker Road each involved two cars. The crash on the ramp from 23 to 94 involved one car, the dispatcher said. No further information was immediately available.
