Crashes snarl morning commute on M-14 in Ann Arbor
A couple of crashes were plaguing the morning commute on M-14 in Ann Arbor Friday morning.
State police were responding to crashes at westbound M-14 and Nixon Road and eastbound M-14 and the west triple-decker intersection with U.S. 23, a dispatcher with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said shortly after 8 a.m. Friday. An earlier hit-and-run crash on westbound M-14 at Whitmore Lake Road had been cleared.
Neither of the crashes was believed to be blocking the roadway, but a Google traffic map showed significant slowdowns, particularly on M-14 west of the west triple-decker intersection with U.S. 23.

What's with M-14 the past few weeks? Makes me want the usual M-14 run, which is 38 vehicles in the left (PASSING) lane due to the two vehicles in the right (driving) lane. This stretch of highway desperately needs multiple "Keep right unless passing" signs.

Aggressive kill-for-a-car-length drivers treat other drivers as leader dogs and are always tailgating: when they do get a half-mile of open road, they slow down. Their driving is motivated by alternate envy and cowardice. I prefer even cellphoners, who drive from 290 feet behind their vehicles. There are no good drivers, only those who constantly seek to improve. There are precise drivers and there are slobs. No offence meant to you, of course.

I'm glad I got to work early :) People don't know how to drive respectfully. It's all about getting in front of everybody else at any cost. There's no need to tailgate, especially in a high-traffic construction zone where EVERYBODY is forced to drive slowly. Chill out, give your fellow drivers some space, turn the radio on, and get to work safely please! Afterall, you're only rude to other drivers because you don't have to get to know them; you just drive away and you never see them again. I treat all drivers like they're my coworkers, and I may have to share the coffee machine with them later that day. Sometimes it happens, that the guy you so rudely cut off will be sitting across from you at a meeting today.

Late Lucy's and Larry's can't get up early enough to get to work on time. Think about how late you might be if you don't start allowing enough time. Not to mention all the others you have made late!
